A person who dies without leaving a will is said to have died intestate. Apart from monies owed and paid from the estate, these papers can contain shareholders’ circulars, newspapers clippings and personal correspondence.

To obtain details from the State Records website, follow these steps:

1. Go to the NSW State Records On-Line Index Page
2. Click on the link to “Deceased Estates and Probate”
3. Find “Intestate Estate Case Papers”
4. Click on “Search”
